Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED with at least 6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent education and experience. Proven experience in transportation-related projects, including roadways, bridges, rail, and tunnels. U. S. Citizenship is mandated due to the nature of the work. Certified in concrete testing, compaction (asphalt, soils, and aggregate), erosion & sediment control, and work zone traffic management. Strong understanding of construction plans, standards, specifications, and regulations. Proficient in using inspection tools and applications. Preferred Qualifications:NICET certification (any level). Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, Environmental, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or in Construction Management.10 years of experience on transportation-related projects (roadways, bridges, rail, tunnels) with a High School Diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated leadership skills.

The Transportation Business Line at AECOM is actively searching for skilled Senior Construction Field Inspectors to contribute to major transportation infrastructure projects in the Baltimore area. This role entails providing comprehensive field inspection services on intricate projects, including roadways, bridges, and other transportation enhancements, prioritizing quality, safety, and adherence to project specifications and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate pre-construction meetings and engage in ongoing project discussions.
  • Ensure the effective application of environmental safeguards and erosion control measures.
  • Maintain systematic and detailed project documentation, including photographs, correspondence, and technical data.
  • Oversee inspection personnel.
  • Stay informed about industry standards, regulations, and best practices in construction inspection.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior inspectors when necessary.
  • Conduct inspections of construction sites to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Identify and document deviations from plans and specifications.
  • Review construction plans and documentation.
  • Execute material testing and inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Draft comprehensive daily inspection reports.
  • Effectively communicate findings with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Project Team to address construction challenges, ensuring timely project completion.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, including adherence to schedules and milestone achievements.
