About the job

About Plume:

Plume is a mission-driven organization dedicated to revolutionizing healthcare for the transgender community. We strive to make gender-affirming hormone therapy accessible at the touch of a button across all states in the US.

Our work is not just professional; it is deeply personal. We seek passionate teammates who resonate with our mission and are committed to the individuals we serve. For those aligned with our values, Plume offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact while achieving personal and professional fulfillment. Our work environment is affirming, culturally inclusive, and filled with purpose.

About the Role

As a Senior Data Engineer specializing in Data and Applied AI, you will play a critical role on our Data and AI team. Your responsibilities will include developing, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines, transformation models, and business intelligence (BI) deliverables. While applied AI (RAG pipelines, MLOps) is a growing focus, your primary duties will revolve around data engineering.

The ideal candidate will possess strong engineering skills, capable of executing well-defined architectural directives with precision and ownership. You will also apply your technical judgment to daily implementation decisions.

This role demands a hands-on approach: you will write production dbt models, construct Airflow DAGs, deliver clinical dashboards, and contribute to RAG pipelines and MLOps workflows within a regulated healthcare setting. Collaboration with offshore contractors will also be part of your responsibilities, involving reviewing their work and providing constructive feedback to ensure quality and adherence to team standards.

The perfect candidate will have a solid understanding of cloud data warehousing, dimensional modeling, Python, and applied AI tools, alongside a collaborative mindset that flourishes in a team environment. This position represents an excellent opportunity for a senior engineer eager to enhance their full-stack data and AI expertise while working alongside experienced technical leaders.
