Position Summary:
The Senior Data Engineer plays a critical role in delivering data services to various stakeholders across the enterprise. This involves building and managing data resources that facilitate effective reporting, business intelligence, analytics, and operational applications. By collaborating closely with data-centric product managers, developers, technology teams, analysts, and business partners, the Data Engineer III captures capability requirements and crafts data solutions that prioritize business needs.
This position demands advanced expertise in designing, developing, and operationalizing data solutions that ensure the delivery of accurate, high-quality data essential for data products such as reports, analyses, and data science models. The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of business data resources and will be adept at creating practical data solutions, while also advising business stakeholders and technical teams on best practices for data stewardship and resource management.
This role is part of the Information and Digital Services organization based at Les Schwab headquarters in Bend, Oregon.

Operational Support:
• Build and deliver ad-hoc datasets for business analysis and various use cases.
• Create and review complex SQL scripts and queries to support reporting and analytics.
• Assess and implement technologies to automate data preparation and movement processes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot both manual and automated data processes.
• Resolve complex technical challenges and mentor technical staff in workarounds and solutions.
• Maintain operational procedures and documentation.

Data Structure and Solution Design:
• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to define data product requirements.
• Work with data stewards to understand data definitions and business rules.
• Design data structures from inception through production support.
• Create data models for various database schemas tailored for specific reporting and application needs.
• Conduct information modeling, including conceptual and relational designs.
• Review designs for data manipulation, preparation, and movement processes.
