About the Role
As a Staff Database Engineer, you will report directly to the engineering leadership team and take ownership of the evolution of our data infrastructure from foundational growth to enterprise-level reliability and performance. Your responsibilities will include defining strategies for replication, scaling, latency, and governance, positioning you as the primary authority on database operational excellence. Your work will directly influence the reliability and performance of our mission-critical system that supports Physical AI in warehouse operations.
You will engage with systems designed for real-time, AI-ready data access at scale and collaborate with a fast-growing, tech-driven team to address complex infrastructure challenges—making a tangible, lasting impact on platform stability, product scalability, and AI workloads.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the design, optimization, and scaling of relational and distributed databases to achieve uptime, performance, and latency objectives.
- Define and implement replication, multi-region read/write strategies, backup/HA, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Establish governance, compliance (ISO/SOC2), and operational standards for our data infrastructure.
- Drive database performance tuning, capacity planning, and lifecycle automation.
- Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to ensure data systems meet evolving requirements.
