The ideal candidate is not just passionate about technology but also possesses a genuine enthusiasm for equipping others with the tools they need to succeed. You should have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a developer, support, or solutions role, and a total of 5+ years’ experience in any combination of builder roles (data scientist, developer), educator roles (developer advocate, developer educator), or customer-facing roles (solution architect). You excel at simplifying complex topics and effectively teaching others. A strong understanding of MongoDB's core capabilities, data modeling, and emerging industry trends will be essential. You will guide users to discover our platform's expanding capabilities, including Vector Search and Voyage AI. Collaboration is key; you will work closely with peers and cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, Analytics, etc.) across various time zones, supporting peer reviews of code, demos, and sessions. A passion for empowering fellow developers to be more productive and successful is a must.

About the job

MongoDB is hiring a Senior Developer Advocate to join the Developer Relations team in Austin, TX. The role centers on supporting small and medium-sized business customers as they build and scale on the Atlas platform. Day to day, the focus is on helping developers get the most out of MongoDB’s document model and advanced data features.

What you will do

  • Work directly with developers at startups and SMBs, offering guidance as they integrate MongoDB into their products.
  • Produce practical resources and content to help developers understand and apply MongoDB’s capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Developer Advocates worldwide to share knowledge and broaden the team’s impact.
  • Support the developer community by sharing best practices and responding to technical questions.

About the team

The Developer Relations group at MongoDB operates globally, with most members working remotely. The team publishes technical content and resources across platforms to help developers succeed. Examples of their work can be found on YouTube, Dev, and Medium.
