Your Role
As a Senior Digital Matte Painter, you will play a pivotal role in crafting breathtaking digital matte paintings that intricately blend with computer-generated scenes. Your artistic vision and technical prowess will greatly influence the visual aesthetics of our projects. You will collaborate closely with the CG Supervisor, Art Director, and Matte Painting Lead to uphold the highest standards of quality and artistic integrity. A strong portfolio showcasing your painting abilities is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create exceptional digital matte paintings across various artistic styles to align with the visual tone of the show.
- Ensure that all matte paintings fulfill the technical specifications required for each production, with a focus on color space management.
- Develop comprehensive Comp scripts in Nuke, integrating multiple projections and 2.5D setups for seamless handoff to Lighting and Compositing teams.
- Engage in proactive communication and collaboration with team members across departments.
- Align with project leads to meet both technical and artistic objectives.
- Consistently adhere to project deadlines and assist in mentoring junior artists when necessary.
Collaboration and Workflow:
- Work closely with leadership and production teams to troubleshoot issues and provide creative insights.
- Participate in daily reviews and team discussions to foster creative and technical advancements.
- Follow established pipeline workflows to ensure smooth integration into the production process.
- For senior artists, mentor junior artists by offering constructive feedback and guidance.
Time Management and Communication:
- Maintain high quality while meeting production demands.
- Effectively manage time to stay on schedule and communicate progress, challenges, and solutions to the team.
