Terabase Energy is hiring a Senior Director of SCADA Products to lead both Product Engineering and Product Management for its SCADA Business Unit. This remote role, based out of Berkeley, California, carries responsibility for executing product strategy, guiding engineering teams, ensuring quality assurance, and preparing a broad portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy products for delivery.
Role overview
The Senior Director oversees Engineering Managers responsible for MetStations, FNEs, PV and BESS Controls, SCADA Hardware and Software, HIL, and Power Systems. This role also guides Product Managers to keep the product roadmap aligned with business objectives and changing market needs. Collaboration with Delivery, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Project teams is essential to strengthen product quality, drive standardization, improve scalability, and speed up time to market.
This leader will help shape a high-performing organization focused on business growth, customer satisfaction, and improved profit margins.
Main responsibilities
- Direct the Product Engineering organization and Product Managers for the SCADA Business Unit, providing both strategic guidance and hands-on leadership across the product portfolio.
- Supervise Engineering Managers overseeing MetStations and FNEs, PV and BESS Controls, SCADA Hardware and Software, HIL, and Power Systems, ensuring strong technical direction and accountability.
- Lead end-to-end product execution, including system architecture, design, development, validation, release, quality assurance, and field support for utility-scale solar, storage, and SCADA solutions.
- Work closely with Delivery, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Project teams to improve product standardization, manufacturability, quality, and timely deployment.
- Develop and refine product development processes such as design reviews, stage gates, release management, testing standards, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement practices.
- Champion product quality initiatives to improve reliability, reduce field issues, lower quality costs, and build customer trust.
- Support roadmap execution by aligning engineering priorities with product strategies, customer needs, market requirements, and business goals.
- Foster a team culture built on ownership, technical excellence, collaboration, innovation, and effective execution.
