Define the placement and integration of the electric propulsion system architecture. Create and maintain detailed work instructions, process flow diagrams, and assembly, integration, and test (AI&T) procedures for manufacturing activities. Establish engine degradation models, perform filtration analysis, and ensure compliance with propulsion budgets (leak, power, thermal, etc.). Design high-pressure fluidic systems, fluid system instrumentation, and control components (e.g., tanks, regulators, pressure transducers, thermocouples, solenoid valves, etc.). Develop qualification and acceptance test plans and support testing in accordance with established procedures, including environmental testing such as vibration, shock, and thermal vacuum (TVAC). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of propulsion systems with other subsystems (e.g., electrical, thermal, structure). Diagnose and resolve anomalies that occur during manufacturing, leading investigation efforts to identify root causes.

About the job

The aerospace industry is experiencing unprecedented growth, with spacecraft becoming an essential component in addressing the increasing demand for satellite services. As more launch vehicles are introduced and costs to access space diminish, a new wave of companies is emerging to fulfill this demand.

This surge in payload companies, combined with reduced launch costs, has created a significant need for commercially viable spacecraft platforms, also known as satellite buses. These buses are designed to carry our clients' payloads into orbit.

At Apex, we manufacture these satellite buses at scale by leveraging innovative software, vertical integration, and manufacturing-focused hardware. Our spacecraft pave the way for the future of society, facilitating everything from earth observation to advanced communications.

We invite you to join our mission to provide humanity with access to the vastness of space.

About the Role

Apex is on the lookout for a highly skilled Senior Electric Propulsion Engineer to be a vital part of our dynamic team. In this role, you will lead the design and development of propulsion systems tailored to meet the specifications of our spacecraft bus. This is a unique opportunity to start with a clean-sheet design approach, influencing propulsion system architecture, integration, and testing to achieve peak performance.

About Apex Technology Inc.
