Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent education and experience. Professional Engineer (PE) certification in Nevada. A valid U. S. Driver’s License is required. Preferred QualificationsField experience in construction, commissioning, and start-ups. PE certification in New Mexico, Denver, Utah, or Arizona, or the ability to obtain one. MSHA Miner training is an asset. Experience with processing instrumentation and controls. Proficiency in leading designs, calculations, and technical documentation. Familiarity with 3D CAD systems for coordination with design teams. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. A strong work ethic and a professional demeanor. Proactive in assignments and project responsibilities.

AECOM is on the lookout for a proactive and skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Reno, Nevada office. This pivotal role will focus on supporting mining projects during the planning and design stages, with a preference for candidates who possess extensive industrial electrical engineering experience, even if they come from other sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical advisor for project teams, offering specialized insights based on your professional expertise.
  • Contribute to studies and design processes, ensuring high-quality and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables, providing guidance to junior engineers.
  • Develop construction cost estimates and project technical effort assessments.
  • Handle detailed engineering assignments, including calculations and design tasks, with minimal supervision.
  • Lead mid- to large-scale projects as the primary electrical engineer, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports in Microsoft Word, detailing technical findings, methodologies, and design elements.
  • Engage in early project designs, including conceptual studies and equipment selection.
  • Produce design documents encompassing equipment specifications and vendor data requirements.
  • Review vendor shop drawings against industry standards and project specifications.
  • Provide leadership in electrical engineering aspects of multi-disciplinary mining projects.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration within teams and with stakeholders.
