Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional Engineer (PE) license in Arizona. Valid U. S. Driver’s License. Preferred Qualifications:On-site experience in construction, commissioning, and start-up processes. PE license in New Mexico, Denver, Utah, or Nevada, or the ability to obtain one. MSHA Miner training. Experience with processing instrumentation and controls. Ability to lead design efforts, including calculations, sketches, and construction specifications. Familiarity with 3D CAD systems for collaboration on construction-level drawings. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with a solid work ethic and professional demeanor. Proactive in assignments and initiatives.

AECOM is actively seeking a proactive and skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in the Phoenix, Arizona office. This role will play a vital part in supporting mining projects during the planning and design phases. We welcome candidates from diverse industrial electrical engineering backgrounds, even if they do not have specific mining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a technical advisor for the engineering team, providing specialized input on studies and designs.
  • Develop study and design procedures that ensure high-quality, cost-effective work.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.
  • Mentor entry-level engineers, providing guidance and support.
  • Generate construction cost estimates and projections of technical efforts for projects.
  • Conduct detailed engineering assignments involving calculations and designs.
  • Propose solutions to engineering challenges using innovative modifications of established procedures.
  • Identify discrepancies in engineering results and present alternative solutions.
  • Lead electrical engineering tasks on mid to large-sized projects.
  • Execute projects in adherence to budgetary and scheduling constraints with minimal supervision.
  • Complete design elements for engineering works independently.
  • Perform quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings.
  • Prepare comprehensive calculation packages for electrical equipment sizing.
  • Create technical reports in Microsoft Word detailing calculation results and methodologies.
  • Conduct initial design work, including conceptual studies, electrical load assessments, equipment sizing, and datasheets.
  • Develop design documentation, including equipment specifications and vendor data requirements.
  • Analyze bids for electrical systems and equipment thoroughly.
  • Review vendor shop drawings for compliance with industry codes and project requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise for various studies and design efforts.
  • Ensure all services meet project specifications within the established timeline and budget.
  • Interact professionally and effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Lead project initiatives in electrical engineering and design for multidisciplinary mining projects.
