About the job
Saronic Technologies is at the forefront of transforming maritime autonomy, committed to creating cutting-edge solutions that optimize operations through intelligent and autonomous platforms.
Job Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Electrical Engineer specializing in PCB schematic and layout to become a vital member of our engineering team. In this dynamic role, you will spearhead board-level design from initial concept through to production, focusing on high-reliability systems tailored for challenging environments. Experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, or marine sectors is strongly preferred.
You will engage collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including electrical, firmware/software, mechanical, and manufacturing/quality engineers, to design, validate, and deliver resilient electronic solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Focus on primarily digital and power-based designs, with potential opportunities for analog design work.
Oversee the full PCB design lifecycle, encompassing requirements gathering, component selection, block diagrams, schematic creation, circuit analysis, placement, routing, DFA/DFM reviews, prototype testing, and comprehensive documentation.
Develop and maintain BOMs, design files, netlists, and manufacturing documentation.
Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers to ensure seamless integration of PCBs within enclosures and assemblies.
Lead and assist in prototype bring-up, debugging, and testing, supported by firmware/software teams (ability to write firmware/software for bring-up is a bonus).
Conduct signal integrity, power budgeting, and thermal analysis as necessary.
Evaluate and enhance designs for EMC/EMI compliance and environmental durability.
Engage with fabrication and assembly vendors, addressing build challenges and promoting quality improvements.
Participate in design and peer reviews to uphold high standards.
Contribute to and refine engineering processes, libraries, and design standards.
Ensure compliance with ITAR/export regulations and adherence to relevant standards such as MIL-STD’s, IPC-610/6012, etc.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in PCB design and layout, particularly for high-reliability applications.
Strong analytical skills and familiarity with signal integrity and thermal analysis.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, coupled with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Knowledge of industry standards and compliance requirements.
