Our latest prototype, Trenta, has achieved remarkable milestones, including 10,000 high-power pulses and plasma temperatures soaring to 100 million degrees Celsius (9 keV). We are currently advancing our Polaris prototype, which is crucial in our quest for the first operational fusion power plant.

Joining Helion Energy at this critical juncture means you will face significant real-world challenges alongside a team that values urgency, ownership, integrity, and transparency—qualities essential for achieving groundbreaking advancements in energy. Together, we are poised to redefine the future of power generation, as the world cannot afford to wait.

Your Role:

As our Senior Electrical Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in bringing our next-generation fusion power systems to fruition. You will take charge of integrating electrical subsystems into a unified, dependable system, ensuring seamless functionality across power, control, and communication networks. Your responsibilities will include designing and producing electrical harnesses that interconnect our machines, managing cross-disciplinary interfaces through precise requirements and Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and collaborating directly with suppliers to facilitate the production of essential hardware. This position requires a blend of in-depth hands-on engineering skills and system-level oversight, perfectly suited for engineers who excel in both detailed and broad perspectives. You will be reporting directly to the Electrical Engineering Lead in this onsite position at our Everett, WA office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the integration of electrical components and subsystems into comprehensive systems.
  • Establish, uphold, and enforce system-level requirements and interface control documents (ICDs) across electrical, mechanical, and software teams.
  • Lead the design, documentation, and validation of electrical harnesses, ensuring manufacturability, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with and manage harness suppliers—delivering build packages, reviewing prototypes, and qualifying production deliveries.
  • Engage in hands-on lab work during system bring-up, troubleshooting integration issues, and validating end-to-end functionality.
