We are actively seeking a Senior Engineer I who is enthusiastic about Kubernetes and eager to enhance our managed Kubernetes solution, DigitalOcean Kubernetes Service (DOKS).
As a Senior Engineer I, you will be part of a dynamic team focused on transforming cloud computing and artificial intelligence. This position is within the DOKS team, responsible for overseeing DigitalOcean's managed Kubernetes offerings.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and enhance the DigitalOcean Managed Kubernetes product.
- Contribute to our expanding GPU offerings to support scalable inference workloads.
- Create back-end gRPC services in Go, deployed on Kubernetes.
- Design back-end services and produce engineering design documents.
- Elevate Operational Excellence standards.
- Independently lead projects from conception to completion.
- Navigate the intricacies of distributed systems and manage them in production.
- Translate design documents into actionable epics and user stories with estimates.
- Run experiments to optimize user experiences and boost DOKS adoption.
- Maintain and contribute to open-source projects while engaging with our developer community through meetings, blogs, and podcasts.
- Identify emerging tools, trends, and methodologies, demonstrating their integration into existing systems.
- Regularly communicate with key customers to gather feedback and understand their needs.
- Engage in meaningful discussions regarding architecture, implementation, design patterns, and processes, effectively conveying ideas to peers and mentees.
- Collaborate with teams across multiple time zones.
What You’ll Bring to DigitalOcean:
- In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes internals and proficiency in Go.
- Experience in operating Kubernetes platforms at scale.
