We are seeking a Senior Engineer II who is deeply passionate about Kubernetes and eager to enhance our managed Kubernetes service (DOKS) to new heights.
In this role, you will be part of a forward-thinking team focused on transforming cloud computing and AI. As a member of the DOKS team, you will be responsible for DigitalOcean's managed Kubernetes solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance the DigitalOcean Managed Kubernetes product.
- Contribute to our expanding GPU offerings to facilitate scalable inference workloads.
- Build back-end gRPC services using Go deployed on Kubernetes.
- Design back-end services and create comprehensive engineering documentation.
- Elevate our standards for Operational Excellence.
- Independently manage projects from conception to completion.
- Navigate the complexities of distributed systems and ensure their smooth operation in production environments.
- Translate design documents into actionable epics and user stories with estimates.
- Conduct experiments to enhance user experience and boost DOKS adoption.
- Participate in open-source projects and collaborate with our developer community through various channels.
- Stay abreast of emerging tools, trends, and methodologies, integrating them into existing systems.
- Engage with key customers to understand their product needs.
- Contribute to discussions on architecture, implementation, and design patterns, clearly articulating ideas to peers and mentees.
- Collaborate with teams across multiple time zones.
What You Bring to DigitalOcean:
- In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes internals and proficiency in Go.
- Experience managing Kubernetes platforms at scale.
- Proven ability to drive complex projects from initiation through to completion.
