We seek a Senior or Expert Technical Artist with extensive experience in game production, particularly on AAA projects, possessing the following skills:In-depth knowledge of creating, integrating, and optimizing 3D characters in a game engine. Strong command of real-time shaders and rendering principles applied to character design. Proficient in Python scripting, especially within Houdini, Maya, or 3ds Max. Solid grasp of character art pipelines and their technical limitations. Experience with tools such as Substance Designer, Substance Painter, Maya, 3ds Max, and Blender. Demonstrated experience in character rigging, including collaboration with animation and deformation systems. Proven ability to analyze, solve, and debug complex technical issues independently. An artistic mindset with a sharp eye for visual detail.

Your role will bridge the gap between art and programming, allowing you to shape the final appearance of characters, devise technical solutions, and create tools and workflows that empower our art teams to achieve extraordinary visual standards for next-gen gaming.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing all facets of technical character setup, from engine integration to real-time performance optimization.
  • Designing, implementing, and updating character shaders, focusing on skin, fabric, wetness, and dirt effects.
  • Advancing shading features and rendering effects in line with artistic vision.
  • Contributing to the development of tools and pipelines for character creation, prioritizing stability, performance, and efficiency.
  • Proposing workflow enhancements to boost character pipeline productivity.
  • Collaborating seamlessly with programmers, animators, character artists, and other Technical Artists.
  • Assisting content teams in troubleshooting technical challenges related to tools, assets, or performance.
  • Documenting and maintaining clean, scalable technical solutions and code with a focus on long-term sustainability.
