About the job

Join us at Databricks, where our mission is to empower data teams to tackle some of the world's most significant challenges — from revolutionizing transportation to accelerating medical advancements. We achieve this by developing and operating the premier data and AI infrastructure platform, allowing our customers to harness profound data insights to enhance their businesses. Founded by engineers and driven by a customer-centric philosophy, we eagerly embrace every chance to overcome technical hurdles, whether that's crafting next-generation UI/UX for data interaction or scaling our services across millions of virtual machines. And this is just the beginning.

Unlike conventional enterprise software, we create and build innovative SaaS products that delight all stakeholders: decision-makers, administrators, and end-users. As a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer, you will collaborate closely with your team and product management to deliver exceptional user experiences.

Here are a few of the dynamic teams you could become a part of:

  • SQL Analytics Console: This new product provides Databricks customers with a top-notch experience for Business Intelligence (BI) and executing SQL workloads directly on the data lake. Our team develops the console for SQL Analytics, where users configure, manage, and monitor their SQL usage.
  • Jobs and Workflows: This team supports all asynchronous customer workloads for Databricks, which constitute the majority of our usage. As this demand has surged, we have restructured the system to enhance stability and scalability, while also introducing exciting new features for advanced workflows and customer observability. This team combines frontend, backend, and reliability engineering skills across various projects.
  • Developer Ecosystem: Focused on enhancing the development experience and best practices with external tools, we oversee the core open-source components of the developer ecosystem: the SDK, CLI, and Terraform.
  • Apps Developer Experience: This team is dedicated to making application development on Databricks seamless and enjoyable. We have built an SDK and services tailored for app developers, including our AppKit. Our Codegen sub-team develops tools that ensure apps function perfectly from the start. We are also working on an MCP server for Cursor/Claude Code and developing Skills.

About Databricks

With a commitment to innovation and a customer-first approach, we strive to deliver products that not only meet but exceed expectations. Our collaborative culture empowers engineers to solve significant technical challenges and contribute to pioneering solutions in the data landscape.
