Join Solarvest Energy Sdn Bhd as a Senior Grid System Design Engineer, where you will be the technical "Gatekeeper" for our Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) pipeline. This pivotal role encompasses two main responsibilities: executing advanced mathematical simulations necessary for TNB approval and serving as the primary technical auditor for BESS and Power Plant Controller (PPC) hardware suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- BESS Dynamic Modeling: Create site-specific BESS models, which include Inverters (PCS), Battery Management Systems (BMS), and Power Plant Controllers (PPC). You will accurately model GridForming (GFM) logic, Virtual Inertia, and sub-50ms Fast Frequency Response (FFR).
- Supplier Technical Auditing: Conduct thorough reviews of BESS and PPC supplier proposals, ensuring their stated ramp rates, Round Trip Efficiency (RTE), and control loop latencies are mathematically valid and compliant with TNB standards.
- Grid Impact Studies: Lead Load Flow, Short Circuit, and Transient Stability studies, particularly addressing challenges associated with Weak Grid (SCR < 2.0) to ensure BESS does not induce sub-synchronous oscillations.
- TNB Regulatory Representative: Act as the chief technical representative at TNB GSO (EMS Unit) meetings, defending simulation results and overseeing the Interconnection Agreement (IA) process from start to finish.
- Harmonic & Power Quality Validation: Execute in-depth harmonic resonance studies to ascertain if a supplier's inverter switching frequency conflicts with the local TNB grid impedance.
