Key Responsibilities:Cultivate and manage supplier relationships to ensure adherence to manufacturing, testing, and quality standards. Develop and implement Design for Excellence (DFx) processes and conduct thorough design evaluations for cost, manufacturability, and compliance. Establish supplier qualification protocols and conduct periodic assessments. Create quality control plans and build inspection infrastructure, including functional testing. Draft and enforce technical work instructions for harness fabrication, testing, and installation. Interpret controlled documentation, including assembly procedures, schematics, and engineering drawings. Collaborate with quality assurance and engineering teams to address non-conformances in wire harness assemblies. Enhance manufacturing capabilities through equipment upgrades, new testing validations, and clear documentation.

Role overview

The Senior Harness Manufacturing Engineer (EWIS) will guide and refine the processes used to manufacture and install wire harnesses. This position is responsible for ensuring that supply chain and production activities align with design intent, regulatory requirements, and business priorities for safety, quality, cost, and delivery.

  • Create and maintain documentation for building and installing wire harness assemblies
  • Lead and contribute to Design for Excellence (DFx) reviews to improve manufacturability and reliability
  • Develop infrastructure and procedures to enable business growth and scalability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain safety and quality in a regulated setting
  • Support the transition of automated aviation systems from prototype to full production
