Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required; a Master's degree is a plus.15+ years of experience in transportation engineering and project management. New York PE license is mandatory; additional state licenses and accreditations are advantageous. Proven experience with NYSDOT, NYSTA, and Local Federal Aid projects. Established industry relationships are essential. Strong capabilities in business development. Exceptional project management skills and thorough understanding of project management processes. Experience in creating successful proposals and delivering impactful presentations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills.

Join LaBella Associates as a Senior Highway Engineer in our Buffalo, Rochester, or Syracuse office, where you will play a pivotal role in leading transportation projects, nurturing client relationships, and collaborating with market leadership to attract new clients. We are searching for a candidate who is not only technically proficient in transportation engineering but also has a strong record of leadership in managing transportation projects. This position often involves taking on responsibilities as a technical expert or project manager for mid to large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage assigned transportation projects from conception to completion.
  • Engage in business development efforts, including attending and organizing client meetings.
  • Lead proposal development initiatives to secure new business opportunities.
  • Conduct technical tasks such as research, report generation, design, specification, and plan preparation to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and budget, serving as the primary liaison with clients to ensure project success and satisfaction.
  • Cultivate and strengthen key client relationships while serving as a primary contact for the company.
  • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level staff within the team.
