Qualifications

Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical EngineeringRegistered (or eligible for registration) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC) or a recognized Professional Engineering Association in Canada (P. Eng preferred)A minimum of 12 years of experience in heavy industryComprehensive understanding of industrial production challengesWillingness to work outside of the office occasionallyDesirable Skills:Extensive knowledge of engineering consulting best practices in project management and executionPower system modeling, including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and arc flash analysisGrounding studies and design expertiseProficiency in protection relay and VFD parameter settingsExperience with power distribution equipment sizing, specification, and procurementFamiliarity with instrumentation and field wiring of control systemsProficient in 2D drafting using AutoCAD

The Senior Industrial Electrical Engineer will oversee a diverse portfolio of multidisciplinary projects and electrical studies. We are looking for a proactive individual who thrives in independent roles and is enthusiastic about building business relationships within the local industrial sector. Occasional travel to industrial sites across Western Canada may be necessary. This position may be based in our offices located in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, or Saskatoon.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all phases of projects
  • Develop innovative technical solutions
  • Create detailed drawings and specifications
  • Generate equipment specifications
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders
  • Lead and mentor junior electrical engineers involved in projects
  • Offer technical support to a range of clients
  • Evaluate proposals and provide procurement recommendations
  • Conduct site surveys
  • Connect with existing and prospective clients to foster new project opportunities for CIMA+
