Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain Pulumi projects across multiple AWS accounts using TypeScript, implementing best practices for modularity, testing, and deployment automation. Oversee the administration, scaling, and reliability of our self-hosted GitHub Enterprise Server and custom ephemeral runner system built on AWS Spot Fleet. Design and implement AWS architectures across GovCloud and commercial regions, including VPC design, Transit Gateway networking, VPN connectivity, and cross-account access management.

Role Overview

The Senior Infrastructure & Platform Engineer will shape and maintain the core infrastructure supporting Stoke’s engineering operations. This role focuses on building dependable, automated, and secure systems that enable engineering teams to move quickly while meeting strict security and compliance requirements.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and improve AWS GovCloud and commercial cloud architecture.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Pulumi and TypeScript.
  • Manage GitHub Enterprise Server operations.
  • Implement platform engineering systems to support rocket development teams.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to understand their infrastructure needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Create automation and tools for smooth, reliable infrastructure operations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive experience with AWS, especially GovCloud.
  • Strong background in networking and security compliance (including ITAR and FedRAMP).
  • Proficiency in automation and Infrastructure as Code, particularly with Pulumi and TypeScript.
  • Experience managing GitHub Enterprise Server.
  • Ability to work independently, stay focused, and adapt to changing needs.

This position is based in Kent, Washington.
