About the Role

In the position of Senior IT Systems and Automation Engineer at Databricks, you will play a pivotal role as a key technical contributor to the IT Digital Employee Experience team. Your primary responsibilities will include owning and advancing automation platforms and endpoint security initiatives that aim to streamline operations across the organization. This role calls for a robust automation mindset, extensive technical knowledge of IT systems, and the capability to deliver exceptional, scalable solutions in a dynamic environment.

The Impact You Will Have

  • Lead the evolution of our IT automation platform, serving as the subject matter expert and driving the design, implementation, and enhancement of automation workflows across IT and Security.
  • Oversee and maintain the Mobile Security program, including MDM configuration and policy enforcement.
  • Design and implement comprehensive automation solutions for onboarding/offboarding and security compliance workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IAM, Security, Infrastructure, and Engineering to deliver impactful projects yielding tangible business outcomes.
  • Facilitate technical integrations during M&A activities by leveraging your automation expertise to expedite onboarding processes.
  • Document solutions and provide training and mentorship to junior engineers regarding the platforms you manage.

What We Are Looking For

Core Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in IT systems engineering and automation.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering complex, multi-system automation projects that have a measurable impact on business performance.
  • A strong automation mindset: you not only execute tasks but also architect scalable automated solutions.
  • Proven ability to work independently, take ownership of ambiguous projects, and consistently deliver high-quality results under pressure.

Automation & Integration Expertise

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise IT automation platforms (Tines preferred) or equivalent.
  • Skilled in building and troubleshooting integrations between identity, endpoint, ticketing, and security platforms.
  • Experience in designing and implementing automation for IT processes such as onboarding/offboarding, access provisioning, license management, and security compliance.

Endpoint & Mobile Device Management

  • Proficient with Jamf MDM platforms for managing macOS, iOS, Windows, and Android devices at scale.
  • Experience with zero-touch provisioning, device imaging, configuration management, and security policy enforcement.
