Qualifications

Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, specifically in Landing Gear and Brake system design. Proven track record of taking ownership and demonstrating leadership in engineering projects. Ability to identify and seek out essential information for complex tasks. Relevant Skills:Proficient in mechanical design and drawing creation using CAD tools. Experience in kinematic analysis and optimization techniques. Knowledge of structural analysis employing hand calculations and finite element methods. Expertise in designing for manufacturing and assembly processes. Familiarity with GD&T for mechanical systems. Understanding of design compliance with 14 CFR Part 23/27 system requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and optimization of the aircraft’s Landing Gear and Brake Control Systems.
  • Assist in the design, construction, and execution of flight hardware, test stands, procedures, and reports for qualification, certification, and production purposes.
  • Participate in team projects related to landing gear, brake systems, wheels, and tires.
  • Lead the technical direction of designs and oversee their delivery, testing, and certification processes.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and manage technical deliverables efficiently.
  • Conduct performance analyses, including braking energy and multibody dynamic landing assessments.
  • Create, review, and execute tests at both equipment and system levels.
  • Analyze flight test data for insights and improvements.
