Position Description
Oklo is seeking a seasoned and motivated leader to spearhead and expand our test organization in Idaho Falls. In this pivotal role, you will manage the planning, execution, and ongoing enhancement of various test programs, including prototypical thermal-hydraulic, materials, and tribology test systems. Collaborating closely with design engineering, safety analysis, and regulatory teams, you will ensure that test data is robust enough to support the licensing and deployment of Oklo’s state-of-the-art reactors.
As the Senior Manager, you will not only establish the strategic vision but also engage in the intricacies of team building, infrastructure development, and hands-on problem-solving. Your leadership will be critical in enabling Oklo’s test team to deliver high-quality, traceable data, facilitating a swift and confident journey through design, licensing, and deployment phases.
Candidates willing to relocate to Idaho Falls are preferred; however, qualified remote candidates open to traveling up to 25% of the time will also be considered.
Specific responsibilities may include:
Leading the strategic roadmap for Oklo’s Idaho Falls test facility.
Establishing and sustaining a systematic approach for test planning, execution, and reporting that aligns with technical, regulatory, and safety standards.
Overseeing multidisciplinary teams of engineers and technicians to ensure timely and budget-conscious execution of tests.
Partnering with design engineers to outline test objectives, acceptance criteria, and instrumentation strategies.
Directing the procurement and integration of critical test equipment.
Guaranteeing data quality, traceability, and configuration management for all test results, ensuring a clear linkage to requirements and verification artifacts.
Cultivating strong relationships with safety, licensing, and regulatory teams to provide defensible outcomes from test programs.
Mentoring and developing a high-performing test engineering team, fostering a culture characterized by rigor, creativity, and accountability.
