Key Responsibilities:Precision Opto-Electrical Assembly: Work collaboratively with Manufacturing and Product Engineers to assemble and test ultra-precise devices, integrating optical sub-assemblies, electrical components, wire harnesses, and complete product chassis while adhering to established work instructions. Specialized Processes Execution: Perform tasks such as active optical alignment, epoxy application (UV/oven curing), fiber splicing/routing, and soldering/desoldering to achieve micron-scale tolerances. Quality Assurance & Compliance: Inspect materials, perform in-process checks, and validate device performance through functional testing involving setup, execution, and teardown. Build Record Maintenance: Update manufacturing databases with build records to ensure compliance with quality standards and traceability. Workflow Refinement: Enhance assembly documentation and provide constructive feedback to optimize processes. Equipment Management: Calibrate laboratory tools and maintain a documented maintenance schedule to ensure operational readiness. Cleanroom Standards Adherence: Strictly follow cleanliness protocols in controlled environments to minimize contamination risks. Qualifications:Education & Experience: A 2-year technical degree accompanied by 3+ years of experience in an electronics/optics manufacturing environment (or equivalent). Hands-on expertise in active alignment for building fiber and free-space laser systems, micro-optics bonding, and photonic device pigtailing is highly advantageous. Technical Skills: Proficient in interpreting CAD drawings, schematics, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with exceptional attention to detail.

Role Overview

The Senior Manufacturing Technician will focus on high-precision free-space optical assembly, testing, and manufacturing practices. This role involves hands-on work building, testing, troubleshooting, and refining both developmental and production optical and electronic systems. The technician will partner closely with engineers to carry out detailed assembly workflows.
