Required Skills and Experience:4-6 years of experience as a Materials Engineer within the aerospace or gas turbine manufacturing sector, with a focus on quality systems and field support. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or Metallurgy. Familiarity with Additive Manufacturing processes and technologies is preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of materials and engineering principles.

We are looking for a Senior Materials Engineer to join our expanding team in Cincinnati, OH. In this pivotal role, you will operate within an established Engineering Support office focused on the Aero Engines and Gearboxes domain. Your responsibilities will encompass R&D, testing, analysis, and characterization of materials, including Verification & Validation of new material development processes, defining technical specifications for specialized treatments, conducting failure analysis on defective components, and collaborating across various departments such as Design, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain, while also engaging directly with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive and support material qualifications for new turbomachinery hardware from suppliers, enhancing robust processes and improving supply chain capacity.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to both internal teams and external clients.
  • Engage with business and industry teams to foster improvements in the application of special processes for turbomachinery components.
  • Provide technical and strategic assistance to the supply chain through reviews and pre-production dialogues.
  • Develop and specify technical requirements and specifications.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all technical data generated for assigned projects in alignment with engineering policies and standards.
  • Assess non-conformances by analyzing requirements and acceptability criteria; recommend corrective actions while maximizing manufacturability.
