Required Skills and ExperienceA minimum of 7 years of experience in designing and manufacturing electromechanical products, or relevant graduate education. Proficiency in mechanism design, ideally with an emphasis on robotics and/or medical devices. Solid understanding of mechanical analysis, covering statics, dynamics, kinematics, stress, fatigue, thermal properties, and reliability. Experience with design, analysis, and documentation of components and mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks or similar CAD software. Ability to release designs adhering to robust documentation standards and configuration control practices. Familiarity with mechatronic systems, including motors, sensors, and brakes. Education RequirementA minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.

The Ion™ endoluminal system, our cutting-edge robotic platform, aims to revolutionize minimally invasive biopsies in the peripheral lung, significantly enhancing the early diagnosis of lung cancer. This is a thrilling opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a rapidly expanding sector within Intuitive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-disciplinary technical teams to establish design requirements for groundbreaking products.
  • Rapidly create and refine full-scale prototypes to meet precise specifications.
  • Drive problem-solving initiatives and troubleshooting efforts to enhance product performance.
  • Design components and generate detailed mechanical drawings in compliance with regulatory standards for mass production methods, including cast metals, injection molded plastics, and sheet metal stamping.
  • Oversee the development and commercialization of mechanical assemblies, focusing on critical functions and safety considerations.
  • Mentor and guide colleagues to enhance their technical and business acumen.
