What You Will Be Doing:As a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in fluids, you will take ownership of hardware designs for fluid systems within Helion's fusion generators. Your role will involve solving complex multidisciplinary engineering challenges essential for the global deployment of fusion energy, while also fostering a positive team culture. You will report directly to the Senior Manager of Engineering in this onsite role located at our Everett, WA office. Key Responsibilities:Lead and refine designs related to fluid, thermal, and structural subsystems. Draw insights from historical engineering methods, conceive innovative hardware, and validate your solutions through testing. Design fusion hardware using advanced 3D CAD software (e.g., NX). Conduct analyses using both in-house and external tools (e.g., ANSYS Fluent) and facilitate design reviews to gather feedback and iterate on designs until achieving a fully operational system. Collaborate with experts to broaden your engineering expertise and domain knowledge. Work hands-on with experienced technicians to bring your hardware designs to life. Diagnose and resolve hardware issues as they emerge in integrated fusion generators.
