Join ISEE as a full-time Senior Mechanical Engineer, where you will drive innovation in the autonomous vehicle sector. We're looking for a dynamic individual with over 5 years of experience in product development, ready to take the helm in managing multiple development projects. Your expertise will encompass the entire hardware development process, from design and testing to full-scale production. You will be responsible for crafting specification documents for newly designed systems and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. While previous experience in the automotive industry is advantageous, it is not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, integrate, and validate hardware components for self-driving trucks.
- Develop project schedules for new hardware initiatives.
- Create comprehensive engineering specifications and oversee development tasks across various vehicle subsystems.
- Formulate assembly and testing procedures.
- Collaborate with contract manufacturers to ensure timely delivery of components.
- Lead design review sessions.
- Design parts for manufacturability and assist in the creation of Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Manage engineering changes for updates to existing vehicle designs.
- Collaborate with the Hardware team to maintain safety standards throughout the development process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in product design and development.
- Proficient in GD&T and skilled in generating engineering drawings and documentation.
- Experienced with CAD software (Solidworks, Fusion 360, NX).
- Demonstrated experience in designing sheet metal and machined components.
- Knowledge of designing for outdoor or harsh environments (particulate ingress, water ingress, UV exposure, shock and vibration, high temperatures, etc.).
- Basic hand tool knowledge and experience.
- Strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with plastic injection molding.
- A strong passion for AI, robotics, and self-driving technology.
