Position Overview
The Senior Mechanical Engineer plays a pivotal role in overseeing all phases of the project lifecycle, from the initial concept generation through detailed design, analysis, assembly, testing, and implementation. This position requires close collaboration with clients to define project scope and manage project teams to ensure successful completion within budget and deadlines. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive expertise in mechanical engineering, along with a foundational understanding of related disciplines, enabling effective communication with clients and team members.
Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design efforts on complex engineering projects, including the development or modification of systems and processes while supervising the engineering team.
- Serve as the mechanical subject matter expert and manage multiple small to medium-sized projects.
- Prepare specifications, designs, cost estimates, and equipment selections while ensuring project documentation is thorough and complete.
- Provide accurate estimates for labor, materials, and associated costs to assist in project quoting and scheduling.
- Conduct detailed engineering studies addressing complex challenges.
- Represent MNA at design and construction meetings.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering their professional development.
- Travel to project sites as necessary to assess and evaluate deliverables.
- Stay informed about current architectural, engineering, and design practices, as well as relevant codes and environmental considerations.
