Qualifications

Key ResponsibilitiesConduct multi-physics analyses and simulations of mechanical and optical assemblies for high-performance optical and computing systems. Define and optimize substrate stack-ups, ensuring a balance between mechanical stability, warpage control, thermal dissipation, and integration needs. Perform finite element analyses (FEA) to assess stress, strain, warpage, and more. Execute thermo-optical-mechanical simulations to evaluate material deformation, stress evolution, and structural responses under varying loads and temperatures, including during assembly, solder reflow, and system-level integration. Conduct ageing and life-cycle simulations to model long-term material degradation, creep, fatigue, and stress relaxation over extended operational periods. Lead material selection and evaluation to meet the mechanical, thermal, and reliability requirements, balancing CTE compatibility, stiffness, thermal conductivity, manufacturability, and cost.

About the role

About OLIX

At OLIX, we are pioneering the future of AI technology. With the rapid growth of AI outpacing any technology in history, there is a critical infrastructure gap in chip and power station production. Our innovative solution, the Optical Tensor Processing Unit (OTPU), is set to redefine performance and energy efficiency standards, creating unprecedented opportunities in the tech landscape for the coming decades.

The Role:

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Senior Mechanical Simulation Engineer to spearhead the analysis, simulation, and optimization of precision opto-mechanical systems and advanced substrate structures that are vital for the performance of our OTPUs. This role is perfect for a candidate with extensive experience in advanced simulations focusing on structural response (static and modal), thermal transfer, optical alignment, and fluid flow modeling. You will lead simulation-driven development of precision assemblies and materials that meet our stringent optical, thermal, mechanical, fluid flow, and reliability standards.

Collaboration is key in this position. You will work closely with teams across mechanical, optical, electrical, and materials domains to ensure that our designs maintain exceptional stability, thermal performance, and structural integrity throughout manufacturing and operation.

About OLIX

OLIX is at the forefront of AI technology innovation, developing the Optical Tensor Processing Unit (OTPU) that promises unmatched performance and energy efficiency. As the demand for AI continues to surge, OLIX is committed to bridging the infrastructure gap with groundbreaking solutions that will shape the future of technology.
