Responsibilities and Duties:Lead the design, development, and integration of high-power alternators and primary loop motors for nuclear power generators. Utilize electromagnetic design principles and testing for closed-loop Brayton cycle systems and their electric motor/generator components. Develop 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings utilizing CAD and NX software. Manage communications with vendors to procure all necessary components for generator assembly. Conduct bench testing, dynamic testing, and system testing for all subsystem components and models. Engage in hands-on assembly, rapid prototyping, and integration of high-voltage electric motors and generators. Required Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a focus on power electronics. Over 5 years of design experience in high-voltage and high-power electric motors and/or generators. Strong foundational knowledge of electric motor design. Expertise in designing permanent magnet motors for applications exceeding +1kV and +1MW with operational speeds over 40,000 RPM. Desired Skills and Qualifications:8+ years of experience in generator design. Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering specializing in power electronics. Familiarity with motor control systems, including Space Vector Modulation (SVM). In-depth understanding of Power Electronics and their interactions.

Join Radiant Industries as a Senior Motor Design Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing an advanced alternator for our nuclear-powered high-speed generator. This position entails the design of active components as well as conducting structural and thermal analyses of high-speed generators. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional engineering teams and closely engage with the Power Conversion and Electrical Systems team responsible for efficiently converting mechanical energy into electrical energy, ensuring safety and reliability for our clients. As the ideal candidate, you will take ownership of the active part design for generators, and will also be responsible for conducting simulations, performing analysis, and selecting components. Your contributions will directly impact the commercialization of groundbreaking mass-produced nuclear reactors, delivering clean energy to remote areas and critical infrastructure.
