Remote Senior Network Engineer (Cisco / Meraki / Palo Alto)
Location: Fully Remote (based in LATAM)
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Time
On-Call: As necessary for critical network incidents (limited rotation)
Position Overview
Join our team as a Senior Network Engineer and take charge of administering and supporting our enterprise network infrastructure in a high-stakes production environment. This role is hands-on and execution-driven, requiring substantial expertise in routing, switching, and firewall administration. Please note, this is not a NOC or monitoring role. Candidates with backgrounds in manufacturing or industrial settings, particularly in the automotive sector, are highly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and troubleshoot complex enterprise routing and switching environments
- Provide support for Cisco and Cisco Meraki network infrastructure, including switching, wireless, and security appliances
- Configure and manage Palo Alto firewalls, including security policies, NAT, VPNs, and security rules
- Own and resolve network issues from investigation to resolution
- Respond to major network incidents as required
- Support business-critical systems with stringent uptime requirements
- Document network configurations, alterations, and troubleshooting procedures
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure stable and secure network operations
Qualifications
- Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching
- Robust experience with Cisco Meraki
- Solid background in Palo Alto firewall administration
- Strong understanding of:
- VLANs
- Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)
- VPNs
- Network security best practices
- Experience in supporting enterprise or production environments
- Ability to be the engineer who resolves issues rather than merely escalating them
Preferred Experience
- Experience in manufacturing, automotive, or industrial network environments
- Supporting plant or factory networks
- Designing for high availability and redundancy
- Experience with mission-critical systems
