About the job
Logos Space is pioneering a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite system specifically designed to meet the connectivity demands of both commercial enterprises and government entities.
Our mission is to bridge a significant gap in the market by providing robust, high-performance satellite-based connectivity solutions to enterprise and government clients globally. We ensure that business customers receive services that adhere to stringent performance standards for their broadband needs, incorporating these capabilities from the outset. The core of our system is built on speed and reliability, extending cloud and data center network connectivity to fixed, seaborne, and airborne terminals anywhere in the world.
Led by a team of highly skilled engineers with extensive experience in networking and satellite technologies, Logos Space is at the forefront of innovation in this field.
Position Summary, Responsibilities, & Qualifications
We are looking for a Senior Payload Pointing Control Software Engineer to spearhead the development of our onboard, real-time beam control system. This role entails designing, developing, integrating, and testing the pointing control software essential for the seamless operation of the Logos space networking constellation. You will play a crucial role in connecting low-level estimation and control software with high-level mission requirements, ensuring that motion aligns with mission objectives.
Candidates should thrive in a dynamic environment and possess the capability to transform abstract design concepts into practical software ready for deployment. We seek engineers who are passionate about tackling complex challenges.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain real-time state estimation and pointing control flight software using C and C++.
Manage interactions between payload beam control flight software, mechanically-steered antenna hardware, electronically steerable antennas, and optical intersatellite crosslink terminals.
Conduct detailed attitude determination, control, disturbance rejection, and pointing performance analyses that connect link budgets with pointing requirements.
Engage in closed-loop testing using software-in-the-loop (SITL) simulations, hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) simulations, and FlatSat platforms to validate algorithm functionality and performance.
Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, encompassing requirements definition, architecture design, coding, and code reviews.
Provide technical support for mission operations, addressing anomaly resolutions and related tasks.
