About the job
Join Our Team at Odys Aviation
At Odys Aviation, our mission is clear: we design and manufacture safe, sustainable aircraft to significantly reduce travel times across the world's busiest air corridors. Our flagship aircraft, Alta, allows travelers to bypass the congestion of major airports by utilizing city helipads and local airports for journeys under 1,000 miles (approximately 40% of all flights). Additionally, we aim to lower CO2 emissions by 76% over billions of flight miles globally.
To achieve this vision, we are developing our UAV, Laila, for applications in commercial logistics, medical transport, humanitarian aid, disaster relief, and defense operations. We are collaborating with launch partners such as Fiji Airways, Honeywell, and Aramex, along with the US Navy, with plans to launch operations in 2026 and confirmed orders for aircraft already secured.
Our team comprises expert engineers from deep technology and aerospace fields, committed to rapid iteration and mastery of the aircraft certification process. With a history of developing custom drones and bringing multiple automotive platforms to production, we are on a mission to revolutionize transportation. Our combined passion, knowledge, and experience prepare us for this exciting challenge.
As a Senior Power Electronics Hardware Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of our silicon carbide (SiC) propulsion power electronics, which include motor drives, active rectifiers, and DC/DC converters for both the Laila UAV and the Alta hybrid-electric VTOL programs. Your focus will be on hardware design and physical realization, with responsibilities that include architecting and delivering high-power-density SiC converter stages from concept to flight hardware, encompassing schematic capture, PCB layout, magnetics, gate-drive and protection circuitry, and thermal management solutions.
