BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.5+ years of hands-on experience in power converter development. PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field. Previous experience with the development of DC-DC power converters. Familiarity with magnetics and the design of custom transformers and inductors, including planar magnetics. Proficiency in modeling, simulation, and testing of power electronics. Strong understanding of analog control and discrete logic design. Experience with voltage and current mode control and compensation design. Knowledge of AC-DC converters and power factor correction techniques. Deep understanding of DC-DC topologies, with the ability to select optimal architectures and components. Insight into design for fault tolerance and reliability. Familiarity with failure mode effects and criticality analysis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver engineering expertise in the design, analysis, and testing of DC-DC power converters suitable for extreme environments.
  • Engage in electrical power system and sub-system level design trades, defining and developing requirements.
  • Conduct electrical power system verification testing and analysis to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of design, test, and production engineers to develop cutting-edge power electronics hardware.
