Position Summary

We are looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join our Technical Operations team, focusing on solid-state battery R&D and prototyping. This critical role involves enhancing process performance, yield, throughput, and reproducibility, while managing the development, qualification, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives for essential process equipment. The Senior Process Engineer will collaborate across teams to convert evolving process needs into efficient, scalable, and controlled operations. This position offers a significant opportunity at the intersection of process engineering and equipment engineering within a fast-paced development landscape.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary engineering owner for designated battery R&D equipment (e.g., gloveboxes, slurry mixers, film coaters, cell assembly tools).
  • Oversee projects and design experiments to optimize technical processes in the fabrication lab, enhancing yield, throughput, and consistency.
  • Establish and monitor key performance metrics (yield, variability, cycle time) to drive continuous improvement.
  • Assist in the specification, evaluation, and procurement of new process equipment.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to adapt or create tools that meet evolving process requirements.
  • Enhance uptime, throughput, and process capability through equipment modifications.
  • Lead structured troubleshooting of process and equipment challenges, identify root causes, and implement corrective measures.
  • Work cross-functionally to link process modifications to cell performance outcomes.
  • Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation for technicians.
  • Provide technical training and support to technicians regarding new processes and tools.
