Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.6-10 years of project engineering or construction experience, preferably with large, complex, or advanced-technology facilities, including but not limited to Life Science, Food & Beverage, and/or Mission Critical/Data Center projects. Demonstrated QA/QC experience, including documentation workflows, installation verification, and turnover package management. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, VDC tools, mobile field applications, and construction management software. Expertise in RFI and submittal processing. Strong comprehension of construction documents, specifications, and engineering drawings. Experience supporting design-build delivery methodologies. Familiarity with commissioning, startup, and turnover processes for mission-critical systems. Able to thrive in fast-paced, highly technical environments with multifaceted stakeholder interactions.

The Senior Project Engineer (SPE) plays a crucial role in assisting the Project Manager and the multidisciplinary project team to successfully execute intricate construction projects across the Life Sciences, Food & Beverage, and Mission Critical sectors. The SPE is responsible for ensuring that technical execution meets project goals, client specifications, and construction documentation, while upholding quality, safety standards, schedule compliance, and meticulous documentation.

This pivotal position demands extensive expertise in managing submittals and RFIs, field engineering, vendor coordination, commissioning preparations, and QA/QC processes. The Senior Project Engineer serves as a technical and procedural resource on high-paced projects and offers guidance and mentorship to Project Engineer I/II team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager in delivering mission-critical construction projects in accordance with project objectives, technical requirements, and timelines.
  • Lead coordination efforts between engineering, construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors to swiftly and accurately address field challenges.
  • Thoroughly review construction documents to identify discrepancies, assess constructability, and anticipate potential RFIs.
  • Establish and uphold QA/QC workflows, including submittal reviews, inspection documentation, as-built verification, and quality sign-offs.
  • Ensure all installations comply with engineering standards, client specifications, and mission-critical reliability benchmarks.
  • Aid in the preparation for commissioning activities, including equipment validation, system walkthroughs, and closure of punch lists.
  • Oversee engineering and documentation tasks related to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, utilities, and control systems prevalent in life science, food & beverage, and data center environments.
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors regarding lead times, FATs, delivery schedules, and installation prerequisites.
  • Support the readiness for integrated systems testing, commissioning workflows, and turnover documentation.
  • Manage the submittal and RFI processes, ensuring accurate logs, prompt responses, and coordination with stakeholders.
  • Maintain comprehensive document control, including drawing sets, specifications, as-builts, and turnover packages.
  • Implement equipment receiving protocols, tracking deliveries, inspections, and field placements.
  • Assist in managing project costs, including tracking change events and coordinating with subcontractors.
  • Promote and enforce site safety programs, participate in safety inspections, and ensure compliance with organizational and client regulations.
