Civil / Structural Project Manager — Electric Substations
Location: Greater Los Angeles area (periodic fieldwork and office/hybrid)
Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Civil/Structural Project Manager to oversee electric substation projects. You will take charge of technical design, contractor supervision, and construction support, ensuring that projects adhere to established timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Collaborating with field teams, vendors, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders is crucial to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct civil/structural engineering design, calculations, detailing, and CAD drafting for substation structures and foundations.
- Review and prepare engineering deliverables, including calculations, construction drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Conduct periodic site visits and inspections; provide hands-on construction support and verify as-built conditions.
- Oversee and coordinate design contractors and third-party consultants to maintain quality, schedule, and budget adherence.
- Identify technical and scheduling risks; devise mitigation strategies and monitor corrective actions.
- Participate in and occasionally lead multidisciplinary project teams; establish objectives, milestones, and deliverables.
- Mentor, train, and guide junior engineers and drafters.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, standards, and company engineering practices.
- Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, fostering professional relationships and exercising diplomacy during conflict resolution.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines.
