Qualifications

Minimum QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Coastal, Ocean, Naval Architecture, or Civil Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of a Texas Professional Engineer License. Preferred QualificationsAt least 12 years of relevant experience, particularly in construction and collaboration with consultants. Master’s degree in Coastal or Ocean Engineering or a related field is preferred. Familiarity with the Galveston, Fort Worth, Mobile, and New Orleans Districts, or other USACE Districts and state projects in Texas is advantageous. Proven track record as a high performer in the field. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated success in business development and project delivery. Strong proficiency in computer applications. Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or GIS is a plus.

AECOM is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager specializing in Ports and Navigation to join our team in Houston, TX.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as Project Manager for diverse ports and navigation initiatives, encompassing dredging, beneficial use of dredged materials, feasibility studies, and coastal restoration projects.
  • Providing technical leadership throughout all project phases, from planning to construction, ensuring excellence in multi-disciplinary project execution.
  • Exhibiting proficiency in both conventional and innovative technologies, as well as alternative delivery projects.
  • Ensuring comprehensive management of project delivery aspects, including scope, schedule, financials, and quality standards.
  • Drafting technical memoranda, conducting planning studies, and preparing final design calculations, plans, and specifications.
  • Collaborating effectively with other discipline leads, clients, consultants, and regulatory agencies to manage and implement successful projects.
  • Developing innovative solutions to address new challenges by adapting standard procedures or methods.
  • Identifying opportunities for growth, assisting in the development of proposals and statements of qualifications.
  • Fostering and maintaining strong relationships with clients and industry professionals.
  • Engaging actively in ports and marine industry-specific conferences and professional associations.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
