ABOUT THE ROLE
As a key member of our diverse team, you will work under the guidance of a licensed engineer on various projects involving new construction and renovations across educational, healthcare, corporate commercial, and science and technology sectors.
 
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead the intricate design of HVAC systems including ductwork, piping, and equipment selection for large-scale buildings, demonstrating independence across all Mechanical disciplines with minimal oversight. Assist with Plumbing and Fire Protection designs as needed.
  • Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and leadership to junior designers and the engineering team.
  • Supervise less experienced staff, including conducting annual performance evaluations.
  • Participate in the QAQC process and serve as an independent reviewer.
  • Collaborate effectively with clients and design team members.
  • Manage the engineering complexities associated with Energy Model software.
  • Create Revit/BIM models of HVAC construction drawings from schematic design through construction administration phases, including layouts and detailed drawings as required. Perform Revit/BIM modeling for plumbing and fire protection systems when necessary.
  • Specify mechanical equipment such as boilers, chillers, and air handling units.
  • Review and approve shop drawings to ensure compliance with specifications and contractual obligations.
  • Engage actively in Owner, Architect, and Construction Administration (OAC) meetings with a focus on managing project budgets.
  • Lead or participate in value engineering sessions with the Architectural/Engineering team.
  • Recommend improvements based on standards and processes to enhance quality, coordination, and production efficiency.
  • Conduct staff development activities in collaboration with the Project Manager, including work planning, budget development, and scheduling.
  • Respond to RFIs and manage change orders as they arise.
