ABOUT THE ROLE
You will join our diverse team and collaborate closely with project leadership. Your projects may involve new constructions and renovations in sectors such as education, healthcare, corporate commercial, and science and technology.
 
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead and execute complex designs for ductwork, piping, and equipment selection within HVAC systems for large-scale buildings. Operate independently across all Mechanical disciplines and provide support for Plumbing and Fire Protection Designs as required.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to the design and engineering teams.
  • Oversee junior staff, including conducting performance reviews.
  • Participate in the QA/QC process as an independent reviewer.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and design team members.
  • Manage engineering challenges related to Energy Model software usage.
  • Develop Revit/BIM models for HVAC systems from initial schematic design through to construction administration, including layouts, sketches, and detailed drawings. Provide Revit/BIM modeling for plumbing and fire protection systems as necessary.
  • Specify mechanical equipment such as boilers, chillers, and air handling units.
  • Review shop drawings to ensure compliance with specifications and contract documents.
  • Engage in discussions with clients and project teams during Owner, Architect, and Construction Administration (OAC) meetings with a focus on budget management.
  • Participate in or lead value engineering sessions with the Architectural/Engineering team.
  • Propose enhancements for standards and processes to improve quality, coordination, and production efficiency.
  • Conduct staff development activities including work planning, budget management, and scheduling in partnership with the Project Manager.
  • Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and review change orders during the preparation of construction documents.
  • Perform site visits to confirm existing conditions and monitor construction progress. Participation in construction meetings is required, often necessitating physical site walkthroughs.
