Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design of various engine components, including but not limited to: regeneratively cooled thrust chambers, reentry heat shields, injectors, turbomachinery, actuators, ignitors, cryogenic flexible feedlines, engine layouts, heat exchangers, engine gimbals, thrust structures, and test rigs. Create models and drawings, coordinating the manufacturing processes for the engines team. Develop and implement qualification test plans to ensure flight readiness, including proof tests, vibration tests, thermal cycles, lifecycle tests, flow tests, and hotfire tests. Effectively present and communicate design, analysis, and test results. Conduct root cause investigations and redesigns to enhance reliability and manufacturing efficiency. Monitor risks and execute suitable mitigation plans. Establish and maintain test requirements and plans. Oversee project schedules, risks, and budgets.

Position Overview

As a Senior Engines Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development of reusable LNG/LOX full-flow staged combustion first-stage engines and a LH2/LOX expander second-stage engine for our launch vehicle, Nova. You will take complete ownership of the design, analysis, manufacturing, testing, and validation of advanced components for our reusable rocket engine. This includes thrust chambers, reentry heat shields, injectors, turbomachinery, actuators, ignitors, and more. You will be an integral part of the engines development team, navigating through all stages of the product lifecycle. Your focus will be on employing cutting-edge design and manufacturing techniques to tackle complex challenges, while continuously iterating and refining your designs. You should be prepared to maintain focus, move swiftly, self-direct your work, and learn dynamically.
