About the Team
The Development Manufacturing Team operates within Anduril’s Mechanical Engineering division, facilitating rapid hardware development through prototype fabrication, machining, composites, additive manufacturing, and manufacturing development. This dynamic team transforms initial engineering concepts into tangible products, working on a variety of projects including prototype structures, sheet metal assemblies, welded components, test articles, production-intent hardware, and swift iteration builds within Anduril’s defense product range. Our environment is fast-paced and collaborative, with technicians, fabricators, machinists, engineers, and team leaders working together to tackle practical hardware challenges efficiently and safely.
About the Job
We are seeking a Senior Prototype Fabrication Technician to join our Costa Mesa, CA team. In this crucial hands-on role, you will be responsible for fabricating, forming, welding, modifying, and assisting in the construction of a diverse array of parts, assemblies, and structures integral to Anduril’s rapidly advancing hardware initiatives.
This role is ideal for an individual with extensive fabrication experience, proficient welding skills, and expertise in sheet metal work, capable of navigating complex prototype and R&D builds with minimal supervision. You will collaborate closely with engineers, shop leaders, and fellow fabricators to interpret drawings, models, and technical instructions, ensuring the production of accurate, functional hardware.
Additionally, you will enhance the team's capabilities by mentoring junior members, aiding in onboarding processes, participating in interviews, and contributing to improvements in workflow, safety, and execution.
