This position involves collaborating closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and manufacturing.WHAT YOU'LL DOConduct thorough supplier selection for specific products, utilizing our approved supplier list.Collaborate with strategic suppliers to expedite product development through activities such as:Quick scoping of concepts to finalize requirements.Analysis of feature trade-offs and creation of trade tables.Development of should-cost and clean sheet models.Joint design initiatives through clear statements of work.Simulation of mechanical and electronic designs.Lead the creation and consolidation of manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOM), working alongside Quality and Manufacturing teams to ensure flexible production ramp-up internally and with suppliers.Oversee capital expenditures (CAPEX) throughout New Product Introduction (NPI).Implement value-stream mapping to enhance supply network lead times and flexibility.Perform risk assessments on BOMs, including sourcing alternatives for components.Ensure comprehensive component qualifications are completed ahead of production timelines.Simplify complexity through optimization of commonality and rationalization of components and suppliers.Direct all cost engineering efforts to align bottom-up cost curves with product costs, maximizing the total cost of ownership (TCO) throughout the product lifecycle.Address ad-hoc cost challenges, including tariff impacts, import/export costs, and inflationary pressures.
