Your Responsibilities:Design and implement generative world action modeling solutions to simulate future world states/observations and create policies for autonomous vehicles. Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines to efficiently process data from numerous sources. Establish and execute evaluation strategies for world action models. Analyze and study various model behaviors, including scaling efficacy and implications on downstream quality. Engage in cutting-edge research and share findings through technical blog posts, reports, and publications. Collaborate effectively across Waymo and Alphabet to integrate developed techniques into Waymo products. Your Qualifications:PhD in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent deep learning research experience, with a minimum of 5 years working with Deep Learning and Generative Models. Proficient coding skills in Python and familiarity with major ML frameworks (JAX, TensorFlow, PyTorch). Strong knowledge in reinforcement learning, generative modeling, or related areas.

The Waymo AI Foundations team is dedicated to creating machine learning solutions that tackle complex challenges in autonomous driving. Our goal is to ensure the safe operation of Waymo vehicles in various cities and under diverse driving conditions. We actively collaborate with other research teams within Alphabet, focusing on areas such as reinforcement learning, learning from demonstration, generative modeling, Bayesian inference, hierarchical learning, and robust evaluation.

This position follows a hybrid work schedule and reports directly to a Staff Research Scientist / Tech Lead Manager.
