We are looking for a Senior Resin Process Engineer to join our team focused on vital resin manufacturing processes. This position operates in a cross-functional capacity and reports directly to the Director of Operations Engineering for Materials. The ideal candidate will work closely with Supply Chain, Materials R&D, and Operations Engineering teams to foster continuous enhancements within resin operations.

This position is based at our headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA, and is a full-time on-site role.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Operations & Technical Liaison: Act as the primary technical contact for key resin supplier locations, leading initiatives to implement new products, process modifications, and enhancements in manufacturing capabilities in collaboration with the materials development team.
  • Process & Equipment Implementation: Facilitate the adoption of chemical manufacturing processes, instrumentation, and equipment adjustments at supplier sites, ensuring optimal process engineering and design while maximizing productivity and quality outcomes.
  • Quality & Performance Improvement: Drive significant improvements in quality, cost, and lead-time metrics with substantial autonomy. Utilize advanced problem-solving methodologies to consistently achieve production objectives.
  • Supply Chain Collaboration & Supplier Development: Collaborate with the supply chain team to assess supplier performance and nurture robust partnerships with Carbon’s resin suppliers and distributors. Evaluate supplier and distributor capabilities to ensure alignment with Carbon's technical, quality, and capacity requirements, and communicate these capabilities internally to inform sourcing decisions and production strategies.
  • Strategic Sourcing & Cost Optimization: Engage actively in strategic sourcing and cost reduction initiatives, ensuring that our operations remain competitive and efficient.
