The Maritime Division brings together experts in software, robotics, artificial intelligence, and sensor fusion to deliver new hardware and software solutions for complex maritime challenges. The team is responsible for deploying autonomous systems that operate across a range of underwater environments, including ultra-long-range, full-ocean-depth vessels and adaptable vehicles of varying sizes. Current projects include Dive-XL, Dive-LD, Copperhead, and Seabed Sentry, all aimed at building a cohesive system for autonomous maritime missions. The division manages large-scale contracts and conducts Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) AUV operations, with a focus on expanding its product portfolio to address evolving operational needs.
Role overview
The Senior Robotics Engineer - Maritime will lead the development of perception and planning capabilities for autonomous maritime vehicles. This position involves end-to-end responsibility for systems analysis, sensor selection and integration, perception architecture, motion planning, health management, behavior analysis, simulation, and test infrastructure. The role requires interfacing with both low-level and high-level systems, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
What you will do
- Independently drive the design and implementation of vehicle perception and planning features for maritime platforms
- Analyze systems and select appropriate sensors for integration
- Develop and implement perception architectures and motion planning algorithms
- Oversee health management and behavior analysis for autonomous vehicles
- Build and maintain simulation and test infrastructure
- Lead technical efforts across subsystem and system levels, taking ownership of outcomes
- Act as a technical lead throughout the product lifecycle, from architecture and design to delivery and ongoing support
