Role overview

The Senior Security Compliance Engineer joins the Information Security team in Barcelona. This position designs and scales privacy-focused, compliance-driven systems for Scopely’s global technology operations. Regular collaboration with Security, Legal, Engineering, Product, and Player Experience teams is essential to embed privacy by design across products and workflows.

What you will do

  • Integrate privacy by design principles into products, platforms, and operational workflows
  • Develop and enhance privacy engineering capabilities for data subject rights requests, data lifecycle management, and regulatory compliance
  • Translate legal and regulatory requirements into technical specifications and actionable guidance
  • Create and maintain tools, services, and automation processes in Python to support privacy and compliance
  • Automate workflows using Temporal or similar orchestration platforms
  • Operate secure, scalable, and reliable privacy-related systems and integrations in AWS and other environments
  • Use SQL for data archiving, purging, and managing compliance documentation
  • Work with engineers and architects to develop data solutions that balance business goals and data protection
  • Conduct privacy assessments, identify risks, and drive mitigation through tools, training, and guidance
  • Evaluate new systems, features, and data flows for privacy impact and help define technical controls with cross-functional teams

Team impact

The IT/Ops group supports smooth operations for all Scopely teams, from resolving connectivity issues to enabling new projects. This role is vital in protecting privacy and ensuring compliance as Scopely expands.
