You will:Evaluate system components, define boundaries considering operational environments, and develop a detailed cybersecurity concept. Carry out Threat Analysis and Risk Assessments (TARA), identifying potential threats to assets while assessing attack feasibility and impact ratings in compliance with ISO/SAE 21434.Define and manage security requirements, determining risk treatment approaches based on TARA outputs for self-driving platform features. Collaborate with Waymo engineering teams to understand practical security risks and safety implications throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to incident response. Partner with safety teams to assess safety impacts and necessary interactions between standards governing cybersecurity and functional safety. Maintain compliance with standards throughout the lifecycle of multiple projects and implement necessary updates.

As a Senior Security Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in fortifying Waymo's cybersecurity framework for our cutting-edge products and services. You will analyze system components, devise comprehensive cybersecurity strategies, and conduct Threat Analysis and Risk Assessments (TARA) in line with ISO/SAE 21434 standards. Your responsibilities will include defining and managing security requirements, determining risk treatment options, and collaborating with engineering and safety teams throughout the product lifecycle to identify and mitigate security and safety risks. Additionally, you will ensure ongoing compliance with relevant standards across various projects.
